We provide guiding services for fishing and hunting in the Vilas County, northern Oneida County and Eastern Forest County areas. Eagle Sports is the headquarters for the Eagle River Guides Association and has been in the guide booking business for twenty-five years - longer than anyone in this area.

We book only guides that we trust and certify as true professionals. We choose our guides by species, so you can obtain a specialist for the type of fish you desire, including fly angling guides for all species.

Vilas County and the surrounding area contains all species of game fish in Wisconsin. There are over 1,000 lakes to be fished, including over 200 for Musky. This is the widest variety of fishing in the world, especially when you include the miles of trout streams in the area. The types of fish commonly fished for around here are:


  • Musky
  • Walleye
  • Bass, both Smallmouth and Largemouth
  • Northern Pike
  • Trout - Rainbow, Brook and Brown
  • Panfish, all species
A little-known fishery in this area is the Smallmouth Bass fishery. Since the Wisconsin DNR restricted the spring Bass fishing to catch and release only the Bass population has literally exploded to a point that we feel the variety of spring and early summer Bass fishing is the best in the world.

From early spring when the Perch are on the shorelines to the late fall Musky trophy season we have guides that will provide you with good experiences.

In addition to the "standard" guided trip on a Bass-type boat we also have fly fishing guides who will take you to some of the wilderness Trout streams in the area. Some of our guides specialize in wilderness walk-in trips with canoes or with belly boats. These are great out of the ordinary types of experiences that will be treasured for a long time.
